Dominican Sisters of Sparkill respond to recent Executive Orders by President Trump
As Catholic Sisters focused on social justice, and as a community rooted in our Dominican heritage of speaking the Truth, we are deeply troubled and concerned by many of the recent Executive Orders signed by President Donald Trump.
As members of the Dominican Sisters in Committed Collaboration (OPSCC) we join together in denouncing President Trump's ban on Immigrants and Refugees. Read our Joint Statement here.
Several other groups of which we are members have issued similar statements regarding the Immigration Ban. You can find them here:
Construction of Oil Pipelines
We join our Dominican Sisters of Adrian, MI and the Dominican Sisters Conference (DSC) in calling on President Trump to reverse his dangerous action that advances construction of the Keystone XL and Dakota Access oil pipelines. Read the Statement here.
Along with Catholic faith leaders and organizations throughout our country and around the world, the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill join in standing with the most vulnerable among us; in advocating for the inherent dignity of each and every person; and in calling on President Trump and his Administration to reverse these actions that threaten the fabric of our American society.
