The Dominican Sisters of Sparkill
welcome 3 Novices in Pakistan.
On Saturday May 9, the Sparkill congregation in Pakistan gathered to celebrate their three young Postulants - Mehreen Abbas, Reema Ashraf and Anna Bashir - who were received into the community as Novices. Sr. Anna Bakhshi, the community’s regional director, welcomed the Sisters to their novitiate year and presented them with the white clothing they will wear while serving in ministry.

The Novices will continue living in Multan, Pakistan where, under the direction of Sr. Violet Sampour, they will continue learning about the congregation and the Dominican way of life. “We are very grateful for these courageous young women,” said Sr. Eileen Gannon, a member of the congregation’s Leadership Team who recently visited the community in Pakistan and spent time with each woman. “They are a true gift to us, to our greater Dominican Family, and to the people and community that surround them in Pakistan.”
