“Is there anyone among you who, if your child asks for bread, will give a stone?”
Matthew 7:9

In many ways, our national budget priorities do exactly that.  We are no strangers to this fact, for the people affected enter our lives each day.

The gap between those who are rich and those who are poor is growing in our nation.  The needs of those living in poverty can only be met if our government would choose to spend less on the military and more on education, health care, housing, job training and other social needs.

Through our ministries, we make the well-being of people our first priority and call upon our government to do the same.  We must drop our stones and change our priorities so that we might offer all who hunger the bread of life.
