In The Evening of My Life
Reflecting on these seventy-seven years of my religious life
as a Dominican Sister of Sparkill,
I am filled with love and gratitude to God.
Each day is a blessing, a new beginning and I accept it as it comes.
When sorrow or pain appears, try not to let it get to you.
Each evening, ask God to give you strength and each morning pick yourself up.
“Live Life” has always been my guide. By doing so,
I have lived these precious ninety-six wonderful years.
Enjoying family, people, laughter, parties,
and good conversation has kept me on my feet all this time.
Being true to my Irish roots, I will live fully the rest of my years,
God willing, and keep on dancing!
