The 6th Annual Cycling for Peace, sponsored by the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill, was held on Saturday, September 19 on the convent and St. Thomas Aquinas College grounds from 9AM-1PM. We were delighted to have our largest crowd ever, over 80 guests enjoyed the morning!
The weather was beautiful as cyclists, walkers, and runners followed two marked routes on the properties. Everyone who registered received a free T-shirt and enjoyed the food, contests, and games.
The Sisters are happy to have the event at their motherhouse and came out to say “hello” to friends and family who stopped by…and to have some of the great food by Conrad’s Concessions!
Our Scavenger Hunt was a big success as participants used their detective skills to hunt for items based on fun clues. Kids tested their skills at the football toss and gathered to play Heads or Tails! At one point an impromptu dance contest broke out causing everyone to join in on the fun!
Siena Hall Sisters participated in the fun by having their own inside “Walk and Wheel.” We wish to thank all our donors and sponsors as well as those who participated in the 50/50 Raffle! We congratulate the following winners of our 50/50 Raffle:
1st Prize - $2,734 – Mr. & Mrs. Hugh Cunningham
2nd Prize - $1,640 – Mr. Michael Foley
3rd Prize - $1,093 – Dr. Michael Smith
We are happy to report that we raised more than $37,000! Many thanks and see you next year…and bring a friend!
