Sisters In The News

At United Hospice of Rockland‘s (UHR) annual Staff Appreciation Breakfast on June 20, 2017, Sr. Maureen Robinson was recognized for her 5 years of service to the organization. In her remarks, Executive Director of UHR, Amy Stern, shared the following: “Sister Maureen is a multi-talented person – an RN, teacher, missionary, fluent in Spanish, and a Dominican Sister. She provides outstanding and comprehensive spiritual care no matter the faith background of UHR’s patients. She is highly organized and extremely flexible, and sees the care of people as more than her job: it is her mission. She has unlimited reserves of patience and reaches out to staff, volunteers as well as URH’s families always with a listening ear and a kind heart. Sister Maureen is truly an asset and a blessing to United Hospice.”

Sister Rose Pfannebecker has touched many lives through her work with clients in recovery at St. Louis, MO-based Queen of Peace Center, a behavioral healthcare provider for women with addiction, their children, and families. Parishioners of nearby St. Raphael’s Church were so impressed by Sr. Rose’s work, that they donated the proceeds from their Lenten Project, an impressive $25,000, to help purchase a new 12-passenger van for the Center! Pictured below is Sr. Rose with the van.
