Evelyn P. Joyce Adams passed away peacefully at the age of 91 surrounded by her loving family on June 21, 2024.
Evelyn was born in Manhattan, NY, to Michael and Margaret Joyce on November 9, 1932. Evelyn was the oldest of three children. She first met the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill when she was a student at St. Rosa Lima School in Manhattan, NY.
A resident of Rockland County since 2004, Evelyn became an Associate of the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill in 2009. The Associates remember her Irish wit, always sprinkled with great wisdom. They truly looked forward to her wonderful stories of raising her family. A devout Catholic who loved to volunteer, Evelyn was also a member of the Rosary Society of St. Columba Roman Catholic Church.
Evelyn is survived by her loving family; daughters Pattie (John Tramontozzi), Kathy (Mike Tramontozzi) and Eileen Taveroni, and sons Tommy and Timothy Adams. She was a proud grandmother of eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Evelyn is predeceased by her husband Richard Adams; her sons, Richard Adams Jr., Kevin Michael Adams, Michael John Adams, and son-in-law Michael Tavaroni; and her siblings Peggy Monahan and Michael Joyce. She is also predeceased by her grandson Thomas Anthony Adams.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at St. Peter’s & St Mary Catholic Church, 115 Broadway, Haverstraw, NY, followed by burial at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, New Jersey.
