The Dominican Sisters of Sparkill give thanks to God for the life of our Associate Mary Lou Storment who entered eternal life on October 24, 2023.
Mary Lou’s joyful personality blended her faith in God and fidelity to God’s with a wonderful sense of humor and great insight. She brought so much joy, love, and knowledge of the Lord to everyone she met. A dynamic teacher and faithful friend, Mary Lou loved and helped so many children and hurting adults—there are so many who will miss her dearly.
Mary Lou loved her connections with the Sparkill Dominican Sisters and Associates. An Associate since 2001, she served as co-director of our St. Louis Associates from 2014-2020. During her years as an Associate, Mary Lou’s ministries included providing meals for the East St. Louis Heart & Home Family Center house builds, supplying baby items and “starter kits” for mothers at St. Mary’s Hospital, and praying for those who are incarcerated.
Mary Lou was the mother of James Storment, loving grandmother of Rachel Lang, and cherished aunt and friend to many. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Church, 4900 Ringer Rd, St. Louis, MO, on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 10:00 AM.
