Upon her

return from Africa she was a staff member at Villa St. Joseph in Saugerties, NY and then taught in St. Michael’s, AZ from 1990-1994. From 1995-96 she taught English to children in Vilnius, Lithuania. Upon her retirement she continued to remain active until she became a resident in Siena Hall Infirmary in 2007. We will remember Sister Sandra for her indomitable spirit and her faith in God. This spirit and her deep and abiding belief in the presence of God in her life was evident when she left her native Italy, came to a new country, entered our community, studied, taught, joined the Peace Corp and later volunteered to teach in eastern Europe. We thank her for the sixty-nine years she spent among us; we have been blessed by this unique woman and know she is now is the real presence of God in whom she believed so deeply.
