East Side Heart & Home Family Center works with many wonderful and dedicated volunteers to provide needed services through the Center’s Family Program and Housing Program. People from both sides of the Mississippi River and across the United States generously give of their time, talent, and treasure.

The Family Center was founded in the fall of 1993 by Sister Carol Lehmkuhl. As its director, she and her assistant director, Sister Mary Ann Buhr, coordinate the work of many of our Sisters and other generous supporters and volunteers in the Center’s transformative work in East St. Louis.
