Rosary for Peace, November 2023

The Dominican Sisters invite you to attend our monthly Rosary for Peace. You may pray with us on Zoom or YouTube.

The Rosary is a Scripture-based prayer that reflects on profound events (“Mysteries”) in the lives of Mary and Jesus that are remembered throughout the liturgical year. The repetition in the Rosary is meant to lead one into restful and contemplative prayer related to each Mystery.

As Dominicans, we pray the Rosary in an ancient Catholic manner that affirms the notion that the Rosary is "the layperson's breviary." As such, the introductory prayers are based on the opening prayers from the Liturgy of the Hours.

This month, in addition to your intentions, we we join people throughout the world on this International Action Day of Non-Violence. We pray through the intercession of the Blessed Mother, Queen of the Holy Rosary to cultivate a culture of active nonviolence. May our contemplation on these mysteries, through Mary, lead you to a more intense experience of unity with God, and inner peace.
