The Dominican Sisters extend a warm invitation to all, whether regular participants or joining us for the first time, to our monthly Rosary for Peace on Tuesday, April 29, at 7:00 PM ET. The event will be a virtual gathering on Zoom or YouTube, starting with a brief introduction, followed by the Rosary. We value your presence and participation in this spiritually enriching event.
The Rosary, a Scripture-based prayer, is a powerful tool for spiritual enrichment. It guides us through profound events (“Mysteries”) in Mary and Jesus's lives that are remembered throughout the liturgical year. The repetition in the Rosary is a transformative journey that leads one into restful and contemplative prayer related to each Mystery, offering a path to inner peace and profound spiritual growth. Your participation in our Rosary for Peace can inspire a deeper connection with God and inner peace, leading to a profound and inspiring spiritual growth journey.
As Dominicans, we pray the Rosary in an ancient Catholic manner, affirming that the Rosary is 'the layperson's breviary.' The introductory prayers are based on the opening prayers from the Liturgy of the Hours, a set of prayers that mark the hours of each day and are a vital part of the Church's liturgical life.
As we gather during this Easter season and on the feast of St. Catherine of Siena—Doctor of the Church and a remarkable Dominican woman—we honor Mary, the greatest woman in history, whose humble “yes” to God changed the world. Today, as we pray the Rosary for peace, we remember the countless women who have shaped history through faith, courage, and love. Inspired by Mary’s example, may we strive to build a world rooted in justice, mercy, and peace.
