Welcome to Sacred Stories, a podcast celebrating the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill and their enduring legacy of faith, service, and community.
In this episode, we meet Brother Michael Harlan, OFM, a Franciscan friar and longtime friend of the Sisters. His connection to Sparkill began in childhood. His grandfather, Edward Harlan, worked for the Dominican Sisters beginning in 1942, and Michael grew up visiting his grandparents on the convent grounds.
Over the years, Sparkill became much more than a family connection. For Michael, it is a place of faith, friendship, vocation, and what he calls “holy ground.”
Today, Michael reflects on the Sisters who helped shape his life and vocation—and the generations of connection that continue to bring him back.
He is more than a friend. He is part of the family.
Thank you for listening.
